The National University of Medical Sciences holds an entrance examination for all medical colleges connected with NUMS. The NUMS entry test is used to select students for medical programmes such as MBBS and BDS in various colleges across Pakistan.
The majority of pupils are concerned about the difficulty level of NUMS. To explain, it is difficult to say whether the NUMS entrance test is difficult or easy. Indeed, it is simple for those who believe in hard and smart effort, but it is difficult for those who trust in chance but not hard work. Every exam has a criterion that specifies which portions are easy to attempt and which are tough to attempt. The easy section is intended for average students to attempt, while the difficult section is to proclaim the top spots. We recommend that you completely prepare for the NUMS entry examination because you will be taking a competitive exam that will select students for medical education.
Students in F. Sc. (pre-medical) are concerned about their future, as they will have to take NUMS or another medical entrance exam to be eligible for MBBS or BDS degrees. If you are one of the candidates interested in NUMS entry exam awareness, this is a great location to learn about NUMS and begin taking appropriate actions.
The points listed below will inform you of all the prerequisites you must meet before registering for the NUMS admission test.
All of these conditions must be met if you wish to take the NUMS admission test. Leaving out the above requirements may lead to failure in the effort.
The National University of Medical Sciences’ test pattern is divided into:
Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Chemistry, and English are the four categories. These are the key regions that can not only evaluate the student’s command of his topic but also identify the main areas for which a student should prepare ahead of time. Once you know the main subjects for the NUMS entry test, it’s a good idea to study late into the night so you can do well on the test.
Remember that these categories represent the fundamentals. You should be aware that choosing MBBS or BDS will necessitate a strong command of the disciplines stated above. Preparing them will get you ready for the NUMS entry test as well as advanced topics. We would always advise you not to compromise on any of these important subjects, but to prepare them thoroughly.
The four subjects and their testing ratios that will determine your rank in medical schools are listed below.
The NUMS admission test is worth 180 points and has a time limit of 3 hours. The nicest thing about the NUMS admission test is that there is no negative grading, so don’t skip any questions; answer them all.
Because there is no negative marking, it is advisable to start with all questions about which you are certain, and then go on to doubtful ones.
Another critical aspect of the NUMS entry test is the manner in which MCQs are attempted. Different people use various tips and tricks. What we recommend is “finding incorrect answers first.” Remember that you will only have one accurate answer out of all of them. So, first and foremost, reject the option that appears to be irrelevant. This will assist you in selecting the proper answer. If you start looking for the correct answer first, you may become puzzled between two options, which will always confuse you. As a result, go for the most incorrect options first, where you will have a high possibility of getting an appropriate answer.
Private and public colleges have various fee structures. The Army Medical College Rawalpindi and the Federal Medical and Dental College Islamabad are the only two public colleges associated with the National University of Medical Sciences. The remaining NUMS-affiliated colleges are all private.
The Army Medical College has no tuition. Medical cadets, on the other hand, receive a monthly stipend of Rs 30,000, whilst paying cadets must pay Rs 18,000. These do not include any additional fees.
The annual cost for Federal Medical and Dental College is Rs 30,00. Keep in mind that this does not include any additional fees.
The following is a list of private medical colleges that are affiliated with NUMS.
The list that follows will provide you with a thorough overview of the cost structure of private colleges.
Remember that if you wish to apply for admission to Private Medical Colleges, you must provide the following documents. This paperwork is not about your studies, but about your guardian, who will financially assist you. The documents are listed below.
These documents confirm that you will not have financial difficulties while studying at a specific medical college.
It is critical to be aware of the National University of Medical Sciences’ admittance test date and registration deadlines. Unfortunately, many students are ignorant of the test, so they are unable to participate. We will inform you of the NUMS admission test 2023 test and registration dates here.
Online Registration: The NUMS admission test online registration will begin on Saturday, August 28, 2023, and will expire nearly a month later.
To prepare for your admission test, stick to the dates shown above. Furthermore, if you attend a private college, these dates will provide you with an estimate for organizing your academics and finances.
There are various test centers in Pakistan, however we recommend that you choose the one that is most convenient for your location and health. First and foremost, your center should be close to your city in order to make your presence available at a reasonable cost, and if you live in the city of the test center, everything is good.
Most of the time, unfamiliar cities will confuse or frighten you before your exam. Second, some students are affected by the weather or temperature of the city in which they choose to take their test. As a result, if they choose an incorrect center, they may never thrive. Some pupils cannot tolerate hot weather, while others cannot tolerate cold conditions. So, it is entirely up to you to select a center that is both healthy and environmentally friendly.
Here are some test centers that might offer you a general notion of how to prepare for the NUMS admission test.
So, choose from among these exam centers that are quite feasible in all respects.
As previously stated, the NUMS entrance test is divided into four sections. The first is Biology, which has 70 multiple-choice questions out of 180. This is the most important aspect. A high score here will result in a bonus in total marks. As a result, read your textbook thoroughly or purchase a study guide/capsule.
The second is the chemistry section, which consists of 45 multiple-choice questions out of 180. This is also necessary for passing the NUMS entry exam. In many ways, chemistry and biology are inextricably linked. So, prepare thoroughly not just to earn top grades, but also to develop your fundamentals.
The third section is the Physics section. Students usually do not take this seriously, although it does have an equivalent part, just like Chemistry. The 45 multiple-choice questions out of 180 will test you on the two fundamental domains of physics: theory and numerical. Prepare both and have a good command of physics so that you can save the most of your time without having to think too much about numbers.
The final section is in English. There are 20 multiple-choice questions out of 180 in this section. This section mostly assesses your understanding of the English language through comprehension or sentence correction, among other things. Practice corrections as often as possible to ensure that you remain engaged and happy in the testing environment.
